Who We Are
Smile for a Lifetime Foundation is a charitable non-profit organization that provides orthodontic care to individuals who may not otherwise have the opportunity to acquire assistance. Smile For A Lifetime announced today that it has partnered with the National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association to help S4L chapters throughout North America find qualified applicants for their local orthodontic scholarship programs. Launched in 2008, Smile for a Lifetime Foundation aims to reach individuals with financial challenges, special situations, and orthodontic needs. The Foundation sponsors the orthodontic care of hundreds of patients each year. Smile for a Lifetime Foundation has participating orthodontists throughout the US. Each chapter has its own local Board of Directors who choose patients to be treated by the Foundation.

Our Mission
At Smile for a Lifetime Foundation it is our mission to create self confidence, inspire hope, and change the lives of children in our community in a dramatic way. The gift of a smile can do all this for a deserving, undeserved individual who, in turn, can use this gift to better themselves and our community.

The Doctor
Originally from the small town of Marquette in Michigan’s scenic Upper Peninsula, Dr. Steven M. Guelff is a “Yooper” who has lived in Florida since 1979. Dr. Guelff received both his Bachelor’s degree (in the History of Science, Medicine and Technology) in 1987 and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1992 from the University of Florida.

He completed his General Practice Residency in 1993 at the Veterans Administration hospital in Gainesville, Florida. His specialty training in Orthodontics was completed during his residency in 1995 at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Guelff has been practicing full-time in Highlands County, Florida since 1995, and is a member of over 10 dental and orthodontic associations and study clubs. His leadership positions include two past presidencies of the Highlands County Dental Association, an original and current board member of the Dental Assisting Program at South Florida State College, and a member of the Florida Association of Orthodontists Educational Committee since 2004.

By far, Dr. Guelff considers his greatest accomplishment to be his family. He is happily married to his wife, Lori. Steve and Lori have three boys — Harrison, Stephen and Taylor. Playing ice hockey, snowboarding, weight training, fishing and riding his John Deere tractor are Dr. G’s outside interests. He additionally enjoys Elvis, cowboy boots, reading nonfiction books, watching action/adventure movies, and spending time with the “dynamic dog duo,” his Golden Retrievers, Jewel and Lex.

Program Director
Davina Costanzo is Lab Supervisor and Certified Orthodontic Assistant for Dr. Guelff. She has worked with Dr. Guelff since 1996, has been in the field of orthodontics since 1987, and serves as Program Director for Smile for a Lifetime and advisor to the board.
